Childrens classes

My classes are taught in small groups in a purpose built art studio and my aim is to teach art skills rather than to simply craft. I do offer a wide range of projects during the school year to ensure that children get to work in as many different media as possible. Of course it will be fun and rewarding but the projects will run over several weeks to enable me to teach the children how to keep improving and re-working their projects. The groups are very sociable with children from many different schools and I can honestly say that concentration and confidence grows very quickly in this setting!

I am both a practicing artist and a qualified secondary school teacher (BA Hons Fine Art Winchester school of Art. PGCE Goldsmiths University London). I wrote my thesis specialising in ‘Child Art’ spending many hours working with Primary aged children. I count myself very lucky to be able to work with children from aged 4 to adults... it makes for a wonderfully varied week!

The following weekly classes are available during term time;

Tuesdays 3.30-4.30pm

Key stages 1&2 / Primary

Tuesdays 5-6pm

Key stage 3 / years 7-9

Wednesdays 3-4.30pm

Key stage 3&4 / years 9-11

Thursdays 3.30-4.30pm

I also run children’s workshops during the school holidays, please sign up to my newsletter or follow The Craft Room Tarporley on social media for further information.

My classes work out at £12 per week but are booked in half termly blocks and are payable in advance.
