Workshops & Classes

The Craft Room - Tarporley offers a range of art classes and workshops..  You can see a calendar of classes and workshops currently on offer for details of dates and times.  The Craft Room itself doesn't take bookings, as all of the teachers run their workshops independently.  To book a place on a course or workshop then please contact the relevant teacher. Art Lessons & Workshops

Tuesdays Adult Lesson

Blocks of 2 or 3 week courses during term time. Topics vary and include landscape, portrait and still life. (please see calendar of classes)

Some courses will involve experimentation and the use of a wide variety of media, others may be more specific and aim to produce a finished work on canvas by the end of the course.

cost of 2 week block will be £40

cost of 3 week block will be £60

This will include all materials & paper, but not canvas.

Wednesdays Adult Evening Class

Blocks of 2 or 3 week courses during term time. Topics vary and include traditional and contemporary approaches.

Thursdays Adult Lesson

Weekly classes during term time, covering different topics chosen by the students. Research & development of ideas, inspiration from a wide variety of artists, use of many different techniques & materials, with emphasis on tutoring the individual. (please contact Rachael for info on current topic)

cost of £20 per lesson, payable in half-termly or quarter-termly blocks

This will include all materials & paper, but not canvas. Tea/coffee & biscuits also provided.

Childrens lessons

Weekly classes in term time on Tuesdays & Thursdays after school, suitable for primary and younger secondary students (key stages 1-3). Projects are linked to artists and the emphasis is very much on creating individual pieces of work which are personal to the child.

cost of £10 per lesson, payable in half-termly blocks

This will include all materials & paper, and drinks & snacks.          

Life drawing          

Rachael also teaches a monthly life drawing class at Tarporley Scout Hut. This usually takes place on occasional Tuesdays (see Calendar of classes for the dates) at 12.30-2.30, and sometimes for whole day sessions in school holidays.

cost of £20 per session, payable on the day.

This will include all materials & paper, and tea/coffee & biscuits.
